Console Performance Overview

As we gear up for the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has unveiled key information on how the game will perform on consoles, specifically targeting the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Notably, a day-one patch is set to arrive, bringing support for the PS5 Pro.

In a recent community update video, the studio shared insights into what players can expect in terms of performance metrics across different consoles.

Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will output the same resolution.

However, the rendering resolutions will differ depending on the settings chosen.

When the game is optimized for graphics, players will enjoy a full 3840×2160 output resolution, paired with a rendering resolution of 3072×1728.

If players opt for a frame rate-focused experience, the output remains at 3840×2160, but the rendering resolution will dip to 1920×1080.

In graphics mode, the game targets 30 frames per second (fps), while the frame rate mode is designed for a smoother experience at 60 fps.

Platform-Specific Performance Details

For those gaming on the Xbox Series S, there is a fixed configuration designed to deliver 1920×1080 resolution at 30 fps.

As for the anticipated PS5 Pro patch, Capcom has not disclosed detailed specifications yet but promises that more information will arrive as the launch date nears.

Additionally, the development team is actively working on fine-tuning the minimum GPU requirements for the PC version of the game and is considering the introduction of a benchmarking tool to help players assess their systems’ compatibility.

PC Specifications and Release Date

Back in September, some preliminary info about the PC specifications for Monster Hunter Wilds emerged, showcasing similarities to Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Capcom had acknowledged performance hurdles with the PC version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 at its debut.

However, at this stage, signs don’t point to similar challenges for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
