Dino Crisis Now on GOG

In a thrilling turn of events for survival horror enthusiasts, the iconic titles Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 are now available on the GOG platform.

This move makes it more accessible for gamers to legally enjoy these classic games on PC.

Players can grab both titles together as a bundle or opt for them separately.

The first installment emphasizes puzzles and exploration, while the sequel elevates the action with its fast-paced combat.

For console gamers, these beloved titles may ring a bell; they were recently offered on the PlayStation Store last October.

Enhanced Features for Modern PCs

To ensure a quality experience, GOG has implemented its “game preservation” process on both Dino Crisis games.

This guarantees they tick all the right boxes for performance and are free from digital rights management (DRM), allowing them to run smoothly on modern hardware with minimal fuss.

Successfully passing this evaluation, the games sport a distinctive badge, much like the original Resident Evil trilogy that has gradually made its way to GOG.

  • Seamless compatibility with Windows 10 and 11
  • New graphical options, including Windowed mode, Vertical Synchronization Control, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, and Anti-Aliasing
  • Comprehensive support for various contemporary controllers, such as the Sony DualSense, DualShock 4, Microsoft Xbox Series and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and multiple Logitech F series controllers, complete with excellent button mapping and hot-plugging capabilities
  • Built-in Cloud Saves feature

Fan Hopes for a Remake

Dino Crisis has carved out a cherished niche in the hearts of fans, often seen as a beloved cousin to the Resident Evil series.

However, it has received less attention from Capcom compared to its zombie-themed counterpart.

A recent survey by Capcom highlighted the enduring nostalgia surrounding the franchise.

Despite this, there are no hints of a remake similar to the ones created for Resident Evil.

Even Shinji Mikami, the series’ creator, seems to believe that the success of Monster Hunter may put a damper on any prospects for a reboot.

While fans continue to hold out hope for a revival, GOG has taken the opportunity to promote its “Dreamlist,” a collection of titles users wish to see on the platform.

Among these, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X stands out as a key candidate, reflecting the ongoing desire to resurrect classic Capcom games.
