This lack of clarity may raise questions about the push for an RTX 3080 recommendation.

However, in general, the specs are quite typical for a modern RPG, lacking particularly daunting or pricey demands.

Moreover, a 75GB storage requirement is relatively manageable for a game of this scale, especially since the specifications do not insist on an SSD.

Performance Insights and Challenges

While tools like DLSS, FSR, and the Temporal Super Resolution built into Unreal Engine 5 can significantly boost performance, they’re not absolutely necessary to achieve playable frame rates in Avowed.

Nonetheless, some users reported peculiar issues with DLSS on the RTX 4060, where it would randomly enable itself again after being turned off, complicating benchmarks.

Similarly, the Steam Deck struggled to maintain basic playability—even at the least demanding settings coupled with FSR on Performance mode.

Such lower-end systems are more prone to severe stuttering, which can interfere with the gaming experience, especially since they receive less benefit from upscaling technologies.

While Avowed might not demonstrate the same level of issues as other titles, it indeed showcases a distinctive combination of visual fidelity and technical quirks, requiring gamers to carefully adjust their graphical settings.

Optimal Settings for Avowed

When it comes to graphics settings in Avowed, most adjustments offer minimal performance changes, a trend often observed in the modern gaming landscape.

Players should aim to start with low settings if their systems meet just the minimum specifications.

Conversely, those with more powerful setups might find that they can shift most options to Epic without a significant performance hit.

During my tests using an RTX 4060, only shadow quality and global illumination consistently impacted performance when lowered.

Other settings either showed negligible changes or provided minor gains, often no more than 1-2 fps at low settings.

For gamers struggling to hit 30 fps, these tweaks can prove beneficial; however, most contemporary systems should fare better by this point.

To improve visual fidelity effectively, I’d recommend utilizing DLSS or TSR, the latter providing a crisper image without significantly hampering performance.
