Riot Games is gearing up to launch the VCT 2025 Season Capsule, a fresh collection of stylish cosmetic items inspired by the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT).
This new addition allows fans to engage with and show support for the esports leagues and partner teams that dominate the VALORANT competitive scene.
What’s Included in the Season Capsule
Within the Season Capsule, players can look forward to a specially designed skin for the Karambit melee weapon.
This eye-catching skin features colors that symbolize each of the four major global leagues: EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and China.
The bundle will also include exclusive Player Cards that celebrate the unique characteristics of each league, as well as four distinct Gun Buddies, each reflecting elements of its respective region.
Revenue Allocation and Support for Teams
Riot Games has a dual purpose with this initiative.
Not only are they introducing these exciting cosmetic items, but they are also ensuring that the revenue generated from the Season Capsule is fairly allocated among the four VCT leagues, along with the teams involved in the partner program.
Acknowledging the imbalances that arose from previous Team Capsules, Riot hopes this new model will provide a more equitable source of income for all teams, enhancing support for those competing at the top tier of VALORANT.
Availability and Upcoming Events
The unveiling of the Season Capsule comes on the heels of remarkable financial success for Riot Games, particularly in December 2024, when sales from team-related digital merchandise in the VCT hit an impressive $44.3 million (approximately £35.8 million) over the past year.
Eager players will be able to purchase the 2025 Season Capsules starting February 6, 2025, at 10 PM GMT.
These capsules will be available in the in-game store until the conclusion of the VCT Masters Bangkok.
This inaugural Masters tournament for the 2025 VALORANT season is set to take place from February 20 to March 2, featuring eight teams competing for a generous prize pool of $500,000 (around £404,185).
