RSG Withdraws from MLBB Esports Scene

RSG has made the pivotal decision to withdraw from the competitive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene, leading to the disbandment of its teams across MPL Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The Singapore-based esports organization announced this development through their social media channels, yet they left fans in the dark regarding the reasons behind such a significant choice.

Achievements and Legacy

Having established itself as a key player in the MLBB esports community, RSG has enjoyed numerous achievements over the years.

Notably, their Philippine team claimed victory in MPL Philippines Season 9 back in 2022.

Meanwhile, the squad from Singapore proved their dominance by winning consecutive titles in MPL Singapore for Seasons 3, 4, and 5.

A crowning achievement for the organization was when RSG Philippines secured the championship at the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup in 2022.

The Malaysian team also made its mark, triumphing in MPL Malaysia Season 7 in 2021 and collecting the Kohai SEA Championship, Season 2 title in 2023.

Future of MPL and Team Changes

In a poignant message on Instagram, RSG reflected on this transition, suggesting that this closure signifies the beginning of new opportunities and initiatives within the world of esports.

With RSG stepping back from MPL Singapore and MPL Malaysia, the question of which teams will take their places remains unanswered.

However, MPL Philippines has confirmed that Saudi Arabian teams Twisted Minds and Team Falcons will join its ranks.

RSG’s exit follows the earlier departure of Blacklist International, which sold its franchise spot in January 2025 to focus on a different strategy.

This exit leaves two open spots for the upcoming 15th season, set to kick off in March.

As one of Asia’s largest franchised esports leagues, MPL Philippines has garnered significant attention.

The previous season, Season 14, reached astonishing heights, achieving a peak viewership of 1.6 million and an average audience of 130,000 viewers throughout its run.

With such momentum, the league is anticipated to continue thriving even amidst these changes.
