Spanish and Romanian Pilots Shine at Pre-PWC Competition in Tenerife

Tenerife hosted the Pre-PWC competition from December 5 to 9, featuring over 100 pilots. Félix Rodriguez won overall, while Anca Tabara led the women’s division.

In December, Tenerife served as the stunning backdrop for the Pre-PWC competition, where thrill-seeking pilots from around the globe gathered between December 5 and 9.

Among them, Spain’s Felix Rodriguez shone brightly, clinching victory in the overall category.

Meanwhile, Romania’s Anca Tabara celebrated a significant achievement, topping the women’s division.

Competition Highlights

The majestic Mount Teide loomed nearby as more than 100 competitors tackled four demanding tasks that spanned distances from 41 to 50 kilometers.

Nicolas Dinh from France finished strong, securing second place, with Poland’s Robert Berg completing the podium in third.

In the women’s competition, Anca Tabara not only triumphed but also showcased her prowess by placing 24th overall.

Italy’s Francesca Mugianesi took second in the women’s category, while Germany’s Elisa Deutschmann rounded out the top three spots.

Top Standings

December is known for its excellent flying conditions in Tenerife, with pilots often benefitting from cloud bases around 1,300 meters and climb rates between 1 and 5 meters per second.

However, navigating the area’s intricate airspace regulations has historically posed challenges, reminding competitors to stay vigilant.

Team Performance

The competition also highlighted impressive team performances, with OjoVolador taking the top spot.

United in Tenerife followed closely in second, and Montlamb’air Parapente secured the third position.
